The hellebores at Flutter By 8th will be the first perennials to bloom and ring in the new year!
When I looked outside this morning it was hard to tell whether they were budding out or covered in maple leaves. But it’s official, we’re only a few weeks away from having a blooming garden again.
Of the three varieties of helleborus in the garden, the Corsican plants should put on this biggest show. Both “Ivory Prince” and “Apricot Shades” haven’t even been in the ground for 9 months, but I’m pleased to see that they’re already showing signs of life.
2013 is going to be a nice growing season here. Happy new year!
