The camellia brances were heavy with snow this morning. We received several inches in a Nor’ Easter that closely followed Hurricane Sandy. The cultivar I chose, “April Blush”, should be hardy to zone 6b so I’m not worried about how the buds will hold up during the cold weather. It’s nice to have so many evergreens in the garden at this time of year.
Temperature readings on my hoop house held steady well above freezing, though the low temperature recorded by the Park Slope Weather Station was around 30 degrees. Winter is on the way!
